I certainly love a good book and I love to read. But I also love movies and television. For me, well-told stories come in many forms. Why limit a good yarn to the page? Give me a well-written Hollywood movie with fabulous characters or an edge of your seat plot-driven TV series any day! Along those lines, today’s YA Wednesday delves into popular culture options for YA books, from movies to television, even a Broadway musical. So grab some popcorn, sit back, and take it all in.

• GeekDad analyzes why book fans love the movie version of A Monster Calls.

• But who says YA Fiction has to only serve the Hollywood gods? Comicbook.com offers up five potential TV series ideas from hot YA books.

• Speaking of YA TV series, the Atlantic argues that the new show about Queen Victoria aims to connect, in particular, with young women.

• Television isn’t the only new outlet for young adult novels. The first book in Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, The Lightning Thief, is being turned into a Broadway musical!
